Courage and taking risks are essential elements in pursuing our life's purpose and goals. It takes courage to step out of our comfort zones and take the necessary steps to achieve what we truly desire. Without it, we will never know what we are truly capable of.
As the famous quote by Theodore Roosevelt states, "It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat."
To truly live a fulfilling life, we must be willing to take risks and face our fears head-on. It is only through taking these risks that we will be able to achieve our goals and fulfill our purpose.
Examples of selfless acts that have made a big impact in the world include:
The actions of Malala Yousafzai, a young girl who stood up for the education of girls in Pakistan and was shot by the Taliban for her efforts. Her selflessness and courage inspired a global movement for girls' education.
The work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. His selfless dedication to the cause of equality for all people, despite the risks to his own safety, helped bring about significant change in the country.
The efforts of Mother Teresa, who dedicated her life to serving the poor and sick in India. Her selflessness and compassion had a profound impact on the lives of those she helped and continues to inspire many to this day.
The bravery of the firefighters and first responders on September 11, 2001, who risked their lives to save others during the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City. Their selfless acts of courage continue to be remembered and honored to this day.
In conclusion, pursuing our life's purpose and goals requires courage and taking risks. It is through these actions that we can truly live a fulfilling life. As we strive to achieve our goals, let us remember the words of Theodore Roosevelt and be willing to "dare greatly" in the pursuit of our dreams. And let us also honor and be inspired by the selfless acts of those who have made a big impact in the world.
We are presented with challenges and obstacles each day our lives but, we must be able to see the opportunities in these occurrences while pursuing our goals. We must take action when we recognize these opportunities don't let fear prevent us from saying we would go.
